The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2012

Julie Deily · 33 Comments

I cannot believe it's that time of year again. Lindsay and I are excited thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap!! It's a simple premise, sign up (& donate to participate), receive 3 food bloggers' names and addresses, send out 1 dozen of the same cookies to each of the 3 names you get, receive 3 different cookies from 3 different people assigned to you and then post about the recipe you sent out. It was a blast last year and we're so excited to do it again!

If you're not a food blogger, Veronica is holding a cookie swap for non-bloggers on her site at Veronica's Cornucopia.

Last year, we had over 600 food bloggers from around the world participate and send over 22,000 cookies!! We're hoping to have it even bigger this year and we hope you'll help us get the word out.

Just a glimpse into what some of the cookies looked like last year…

great news, we partnered with a charity this year

After we finished the cookie swap last year, one of the things Lindsay and I discussed was the idea of adding a charity component to the cookie swap. We were thrilled at how well-received the cookie swap was and we wanted to build on the momentum of the cookie swap as well as do some good. I'm so pleased to announce that we're partnering with Cookies for Kids' Cancer. We are collecting a cookie swap registration fee of $4.00 from everyone who wants to join the cookie swap. This is so amazing, your donation is tax-deductible donation, it goes to a worthy cause and the money goes directly to them. As organizers, Lindsay and I won't be handling any money. It's a win-win for us all! You get cookies and we raise funds and awareness for an awesome charity.

Another thing that we're so excited about, OXO is a huge supporter of Cookies for Kids' Cancer – they are matching our donations, dollar for dollar (up to $100,000) AND they will be mailing everyone who signs up and follows through with donating – a Be a Good Cookie spatula. (U.S. participants only and only one per household.)

sign up today!

There are tons of details including rules for the cookie swap on our official Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap website. Be sure to read it carefully as there will be no refunds of donations if you decide to drop out before the swap matches are made or if you don't meet all of the requirements to participate. Any news or reminders or updates will occur on the Cookie Swap site as well.

Hurry over to the cookie swap site to sign up, the deadline is November 5, 2012!

So far we have…these many sign ups…

Questions?

Please make sure you visit and read the cookie swap info to see if your question is answered. If not, be sure to ask in the comments below and I'll get you an answer. Let's do it that way since you never know, someone else might have the same question!

Tweeting, pinning or instagraming about the cookie swap? Be sure to use the hashtag #fbcookieswap!

I have registered for the cookie swap and am keeping my fingers crossed that another 3 people living in the UK also sign up! And I am wondering if I “have” to pay through Amazon? I am American and have a US check account. Would it be ok to send a check instead, or Paypal?
      Thanks,
      Patrice

I can’t wait! Love that you joined up with a charity.

Come on people in Germany! We can send real, gooey, chewy American cookies to each other. How fun would that be? 🙂
