12 days of giveaways: Day 9 – Yonanas and Dole! (Closed)

A couple of months ago, I was invited to attend the Dole Bananas Blogger Summit at Disneyland, California. We got to try a bunch of wonderful banana recipes and see a little bit of Disneyland and California Adventure thanks to Dole. And I love the facts we learned about bananas.
Did you know you can tenderize a roast with banana peels? Wrap them in the peels while you’re marinating it.
Did you know that it’s easier to peel a banana from the bottom?

I hadn’t been to Disneyland since I was a kid…I’m not sure what age but after moving from Southern California to Florida, I have more memories of Disney World. It was nice to go back to the original Disney Park.

We saw the Enchanted Tiki Room and had Dole Whips – I can’t believe this is the first time I had one…they have them at Disney World too…sooooo good!

I had to ride the Star Tours ride too. Hehe

And we had front row seats for an amazing light show called World of Color. Seriously, amazing…watch the video.

And I had one of my new favorite breakfasts…a popular Dole breakfast recipe called Dole Sunrise Pizzas. A must make for anyone that likes waffles and bananas!
Dole Sunrise Pizza

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
2 DOLEĀ® Bananas, peeled
4 frozen whole wheat waffles

1 can (11 oz) DOLE Mandarin Oranges, drained
2 tsp honey
Dash ground cinnamon
Fresh raspberries or blueberries (optional)
Directions:
Diagonally slice the bananas.
Heat or cook waffles according to instructions on the package.
Spread cream cheese onto the waffles. Place banana slices on top of waffles and cream cheese. Add oranges in center of each waffle. Drizzle honey and top with cinnamon. Add berries if desired.

We also got to experiment with the Yonanas machine! A frozen treat maker that makes soft serve out of frozen fruits. I’m all about this machine…
