Plate to Pixel Food Photography Book Giveaway (2 winners – Closed)
Congratulations to Jenny from Healthified Mom & Hong from Ravenous Couple for winning copies of Helene’s book. I know you’ll enjoy the book and find it very informative.
{Updated} I’m getting such a great response from this giveaway, I’m now giving away 2 copies of Plate to Pixel!
I’m thrilled to be giving this book away. If you’re remotely into food photography, you need this book in your library. I. mean. it. Helene Dujardin, the author of Plate to Pixel: Digital Food Photography & Styling, is a friend who is incredibly giving. If you catch her on her blog, Tartelette, on twitter or on her facebook page with a specific question, she will answer it. She has a generous spirit that is so refreshing. I have watched her present twice now, once in Savannah at Go Savor and at Food Blog Forum Orlando. If you ever get a chance to take one of her workshops, do it, you won’t regret it.

Beautiful photograph shot by Helene. The winner will receive a print of this photograph along with a copy of Plate to Pixel.
I preordered the book before it was released and was thrilled when it arrived. Reading the book is pure joy for me. To me, her writing is so comfortable and inviting. I feel like she is having a conversation with me and it’s total common sense. She breaks down everything and makes it seem so easy, it’s like she is teaching a friend about aperture priority or manual mode. I love how each picture in the book (which by the way is amazingly beautiful), she tells us what aperture, ISO and shutter speed she shot it at, including the lens she used. I’m excited to say that, I’m really excited about the aperture priority setting like Helene is. I’m a nerd I know but she has encouraged me to use and I’m getting more and more comfortable with it.
I haven’t told her this but she inspires me, her beautiful photographs inspire me and her workshops and book make me want to push myself. If you ever get to meet her and when you read the book, she encourages you to practice, practice, practice.
Lastly, I love love how Helene says you don’t have to have a DSLR to take beautiful photographs, in fact when she first started out, she had a point and shoot. If you’re the lucky winner, I hope you enjoy the book as much as I do!

This book looks fun. I’m actually a really bad photographer, but would like to learn.
I would love to learn how to use all of the features on my camera and be more productive setting up shots beforehand so there’s less work to do on the backend…
